Service & Calibration

OSIL's Service CentreOSIL's Service Centre comprises of the Marine Instrument Service and Calibration Centre which offers services, calibration and repair of laboratory and in-situ marine instrumentation.


 

The yearly calibration of various monitoring instruments is required to ensure that the instrument is monitoring within its parameters. Typical instruments that OSIL calibrate include Salinometers, CTDs & SVs and Multiparameter Sondes.


 

OSIL also have many years of experience in repairing and servicing a wide variety of marine instruments. The service offered is both efficient and professional with a quick turn around guaranteed. The Service Centre also offers technical support to customers for a variety of instruments, particularly YSI Sondes, AML CTDs and SVs and Guildline's Salinometers.


 

OSIL are certified to ISO 9001:2000Regular clients of OSIL's Service Centre include survey companies, research institutes, universities, manufacturers and military laboratories, all of whom require precision and accuracy in their data.

Training

 

Laboratory Measurement of Salinity

 

The 2-day Laboratory Measurement of Salinity Workshop covers all aspects of sample handling, salinometer operation and data processing. We use the industry standard Guildline ‘Autosal’ and ‘Portasal’ salinometers, for which IAPSO Standard Seawater and other seawater samples are provided. The training is appropriate for personnel at any level of experience with emphasis on individual attention. Our aim is for you to complete this workshop with a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of salinity measurement.

 

 

Calibration Courses

 

Our Service Centre frequently run training courses on YSI's 6 Series Sondes.  
 
The course will aim to train users on every aspect of the multiparameter sondes including:

 

Removal, storage and refitting of sensors,

Sonde and sensor maintenance, 
Sensor calibration, 
Deployment, attended and unattended modes, 
Software - EcoWatch, sonde menu structure and basic data processing.
